It's the "new normal" in Denver, dead and dying ducks and other waterfowl in Denver's City Park.
Touted on city-sponsored signs as the "crown jewel" of Denver's Parks and Recreation system, City Park has become a cesspool of death disgusting park-goers for the last several years, with lake banks littered with dead ducks, dying cormorants, and other disturbing images.
Below is a dead cormorant observed on June 21, 2010, only one of dozens that had succumbed to its environment since mid-June.
